Tree: Princess Flower, Tibouchina semidecandra, native of Brazil,
link
Obtained: Airlayed in front yard Dec 20, 2011
Pix: 2011-12-20: The fresh airlayer. Take-out soup container,
side slit and with a hole cut at the bottom. Container is locked in place with
wire to the third/right-most branch. You can see some red lava rock at the bottom,
then the rest is stuffed soaked spaguim moss; with a few more rocks on top to
hold it in shade it. Black plastic for dark root growing might be better. Other
pix is also of the airlayer - you can see it within the tree while we see the
whole tree in front of the house.
