Tiny "bonsai" sweet potatoes!
Sept 9, 2015:
Many months ago there were some sweet potatoes which started to sprout before we ate them.
Beautiful leaves of green and purple with a spiked edge. I rooted a bunch.
Three prospered. They lived well for a few months with minimal, but almost daily, water, adn lot of sun and wind. I don't recall feeding them.
Mostly the interesting thing is that there were in a relatively shallow bonsai training pot - too small really for potatoes.
Lots of tiny tubular potatoes visable in the root system: (hires)
Just picked: (hires)
Washed and ready to eat. They are quite good. Cruncky, not supper sweet, but far from unpleasent: (hires)
